Initial Sketches and Plot
For our animation we chose the social issue of Body Positivity and self-image/worth. The media is constantly telling us how we "should" look and it's hard to accept one's self as is. We wanted to call attention to the fact that there's no one way for a body to look and all bodies are perfect. The story line follows a boy and a girl who both stumble upon an advertisement for a factory that allows you to change how your body looks. Both characters go to the warehouse in hopes of creating their perfect body. After viewing the changes they would have to under-go they both decide that their bodies are both perfect just the way they are.
Nice message! I like the framing of the news stands in the beginning. The movement of the characters sometimes made my eyes go a little buggy, but otherwise it was nice. I would give it a 4 :)
ReplyDeleteThe commentary on accepting your own appearance is very much appreciated. The implementation of photographs along with hand-drawn icons for the characters is well done and creates effective contrast.
